Presenting you the song «Kryla» — the first single from the second album of the Ukrainian band Obiymy Doschu, «Son», released on November 17th, 2017. This is a song about overcoming the fear of the unknown and persistently walking forward, beyond the edge of comfort and routine, even in the hardest moments of life.
The song was mixed by Bruce Soord — a British musician and sound producer, the frontman of the band The Pineapple Thief, also known for his work with grandes of modern progressive rock such as Opeth, Anathema, Katatonia, Riverside, Tesseract and Blackfield. Mastering was done by Steve Kitch of Audiomaster and The Pineapple Thief.

Recording of the lead vocals both started and ended with this song.
We recorded two beautiful guitars for this song — a modern Martin GPCPA1 an a vintage '73 Gibson J-200.
The recording took place at a big school hall, and drums were the first instrument to be recorded for the album “Son”.
We used Rickenbacker 4003 Bass, 6 microphones, and two gear stacks — a bass stack and an additional guitar stack.
Electric guitars were performed by the band's guitarist Aleksey Katruk and recorded at JustStudio by Ivan Lubyanyi and Alexey Burkov (of Orgia Pravednikov), and additionally at LipkyZvukozapys studio by Vadyk Lazarev (of 5 Vymir).
We used 4 electric guitars for this song (Gibson LP Custom 1968, Greco LP 1984, Fender Stratocaster 1990 and Fender Telecaster 60th Diamond Anniversary) and a whole host of guitar amplifiers and cabinets (Bogner, Rivera, Marshall, Messa), and a FuseFactory effects pedal from SAZ.
Strings were performed by:
The flute was the final piece of the puzzle for the song — it was recorded last, and written just a week before it was recorded.
For a full orchestra effect, we additionally wrote parts for trumpets, French horn, trombone, clarinet and oboe, programmed for a woodwinds and brass sample library.
We used Nord Stage 2 as the piano instrument.
