Presenting you the song «Kryla» — the first single from the second album of the Ukrainian band Obiymy Doschu, «Son», released on November 17th, 2017. This is a song about overcoming the fear of the unknown and persistently walking forward, beyond the edge of comfort and routine, even in the hardest moments of life.
The song was mixed by Bruce Soord — a British musician and sound producer, the frontman of the band The Pineapple Thief, also known for his work with grandes of modern progressive rock such as Opeth, Anathema, Katatonia, Riverside, Tesseract and Blackfield. Mastering was done by Steve Kitch of Audiomaster and The Pineapple Thief.
Music, lyrics, and this page were written by Vladimir Agafonkin. Arrangements by Obiymy Doschu. Background photo with birds by Samuel Zeller.

We used 4 electric guitars for this song (Gibson LP Custom 1968, Greco LP 1984, Fender Stratocaster 1990 and Fender Telecaster 60th Diamond Anniversary) and a whole host of guitar amplifiers and cabinets (Bogner, Rivera, Marshall, Messa), and a FuseFactory effects pedal from SAZ.
Strings were recorded in two sets — a quartet and a trio — at Bambrafone studio by sound engineer Denis Yambor.
The flute was the final piece of the puzzle for the song — it was recorded last, and written just a week before it was recorded.
For a full orchestra effect, we additionally wrote parts for trumpets, French horn, trombone, clarinet and oboe, programmed for a woodwinds and brass sample library.
The piano parts were performed by the band's keyboardist Yevhen Dubovyk and recorded at the band's home studio by Mykola Kryvonos.
