Obiymy Doschu presents the song “Razom” (“Together”) — the second single from the upcoming album “Son” (“Dream”), that will see the light of day on November 17th, 2017. It's a uplifting and tender song about being afraid of your own hapiness and holding your feelings inside, and that sometimes just a little step in the direction of a loved one will help you find yourself again.

The song “Razom” is an indispensable part of the band's live performances for 10 years now, but only now it finally reached it's final studio sound with the help of a charming string quartet, and sparks with new colors in masterful hands of a British sound producer and musician Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief). Mastering by Steve Kitch of Audiomaster.

Music and lyrics by Vladimir Agafonkin. Arrangements by Obiymy Doschu. Background photo by Karolina Grabowska.

The frontman of the band, Vladimir, is well known as a programmer, and millions of people see his work every day. This allows him to afford making non-mainstream music in Ukraine while supporting a family with twin girls.

Vladimir wrote music, lyrics and string arrangements on this song (despite having no clue about music theory and sheet music), sings and plays acoustic guitar, and of course created this page.

Vocals were recorded on the LipkyZvukozapys studio by Vadyk Lazarev (who also plays and sings in one of our favorite Ukrainian bands, 5VYMIR). Acoustic guitars were recorded on JustStudio by Ivan Lubyanyi. We used two wonderful guitars in the recording — a modern Martin GPCPA1 and a vintage Gibson J-200 '1973.

On this song, as well on the whole album, you can hear the wonderful voice of a talented singer, vocals teacher and the band's friend Olga Skripova.

Olga began her music career with a jazz acapella band, then dived into underground metal scene as the lead singer of a prog-metal band Marvel, and now she is a cofounder of a singing school Singwell Studio. Despite being an expert in rock vocals, she got to sing the most tender songs of the album.

Curiously, after Olga's vocal lessons for the band's singer Vladimir, we started getting comments that the band appears to have gotten a new vocalist.

Olga's vocals were recorded at LipkyZvukozapys by Vadyk Lazarev (5VYMIR).

Yaroslav joined the band in 2012, when he had to play a complex 1-hour set in two cities after only 2 band practices. His music career includes countless genres and styles: from cover bands to symphonic orchestras, from jazz to power metal. Currently, Yaroslav plays in 3 more bands, and is a session player too. But, according to him, Obiymy Doschu remain favorite, since he left his italian life, full of parmasan, wine and olive oil, after living abroad for a year, because of us.

Drums for the song and the whole album were recorded at Different Sound studio by Vitaliy Kandyba. We used an usual setting for the recording to get the sound we wanted — a hall of a local school.

Our bass player Mykola, used to be often mistaken for Jesus (both for his appearance and good nature). He even had some visitors in church trying to give him money because of that. Now this happens much less because of shorter hair, but "nimbus" still appears around his head sometimes.

Mykola together with the frontman Vladimir are the only band members that have absolutely no music education. After buying a bass guitar with his first salary at 19 years, learning to play a whole host of music instruments and playing in a bunch of different bands, Mykola still can't part ways with his first and the most loved band — Obiymy Doschu.

Bass parts were recoeded at JustStudio by Artem Bondarenko (Orgia Pravednikov). We used Fender American Standard Jazz Bass V guitar, 6 microphones, a bass and an additional guitar stacks.

The guitar player Aleksey is a real veteran of Obiymy Doschu, since the band was founded as a duo with him and Vladimir, and you can hear his guitar on the bands earliest demo recordings.

His dog Chubby has his own Instagram and sometimes even comments photos of our band, but Aleksey strongly denies his influence on the musical preferences of his beloved terrier.

Guitars were recorded at JustStudio by Ivan Lubyanyi and Aleksey Burkov (Orgia Pravednikov). We used 4 guitars for this song (Gretsch Country Club 1957, Fender Coronado 1967, Fender Stratocaster 1990 and Fender Telecaster 60th Diamond Anniversary) and a host of preamps and cabinets (Bogner, Rivera, Marshall, Messa).

The keyboard player Yevhen joined the band last, and this is not surprising, since on the moment Obiymy Doschu released their debut album, he was only 12 years old. So he had to grow up a bit and get some education (specializing in piano and music composition).

Yevhen is the only member of the band who sees exam sessions not only in his worst nightmares, but in the light of day too. He also likes to play covers and his own compositions on YouTube.

Keyboards were recorded at the home studio of the band by Mykola Kryvonos. We used Clavia Nord Stage 2 as the main instrument.

Our wonderful viola player Olena is a de-facto maestro of music, the most professional member of the band. Having the top music education, a charming viola sound, experience playing in tons of orchestras locally and abroad, and a love for beautiful, complex rock music, she is an indispensable member of the band for 8 years — since the release of the band's debut album “Elehia”.

Olena, a tender flower, is the highlight of the band's every show. She loves travel, cooking, photography and drawing. She leads a healthy way of life, squats with a heavy barbell and never drinks alcohol, although members of the band know that the latter is not true.

Viola (solo and as a part of string trio and quartet) was recorded at Bambrafone studio by Denis Yambor.

The cello part in the string quartet was performed by a guest musician Artem Zamkov.

Artem, as a professional musician, plays in numerous orchestras and chamber collectives. Loves theater, not only as a viewer, but also as the director of music-theatric performances. In his free time, Artem loves having a good conversation with coffee, so before you invite him to play with you, first serve him a delicious cup of Arabica or Robusta.

String quartet was recorded at Bambrafone studio by Denis Yambor. String arrangements were written by the frontman of the band, Vladimir Agafonkin.

The first violin part in the string quartet, trio and violin duo was performed by a guest musician Anastasia Shipak.

Anastasia plays in the Symphonic orchestra of the National opera of Ukraine. Together with the second violin player, Kyrylo, Anastasia forms not only a wonderful violin duo, but also a happy married couple.

The strings were recorded at Bambrafone studio by Denis Yambor. String arrangements were written by the frontman of the band, Vladimir Agafonkin.

The second violin part in the string quartet, trio and violin duo was performed by a guest musician Kyrylo Bondar.

Kyrylo loves soccer and plays in the National assembly of soloists «Kyiv Camerata». Togetyher with Anastasia, the first violin player, Kyrylo forms not only a wonderful violin duo, but also a happy married couple.

The strings were recorded at Bambrafone studio by Denis Yambor. String arrangements were written by the frontman of the band, Vladimir Agafonkin.
